About:
Laurel Halo
Laurel Halo is a producer and live electronic musician from Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. Influenced by her Midwest roots, the music speaks to new club ecologies, explored via abstracted rhythms, chaotic ambience and moody jazz elements. As Halo once told to The Wire Magazine, “Techno is a meditative force that can process darkness and remove problems…in their place, the ideal of a non-threatening, transcended, sexually charged headspace emerges”. Physical process and temporal drift are recurring motifs in Halo’s discography. She has released two-full length albums on the London-based electronic label Hyperdub Records.

You're Me
“Plant Cell Division is the first You're Me release, and it was recorded on Salt Spring Island just off the coast of Vancouver. The tape's "muted hallucinogens, dub-dappled ambience and abstracted electronica" were in part inspired by the Gulf Islands landscape.” - Resident Advisor

Bardo:Basho
“Kirsten Thom’s solo musical venture Bardo:Basho offers up a blending of the Seattle artist’s various musical interests. The haunting spirituality of new age sidles along swooping downtempo beats, ghostly clouds of drones, and Thom’s steady and passionate vocals. It’s a decidedly sensual mix of sounds that feels at times like it’s taking shape before you.” – Portland Mercury

DJ Explorateur
“Seattle’s DJ Explorateur (vinyl enthusiast Valerie Calano) has been a key figure in Seattle’s thriving underground music scene as a DJ, promoter, and curator. Her deep knowledge of psychedelia, electronic, ambient music, funk, jazz, and other genres has led to gigs with Animal Collective, Faust, and Loop, and her affinity for blissfully curated selections is on full display at her DJ night, Rare Air, a unique and immersive ambient show at Q Nightclub.” - KEXP
