Dreamachine Soundsystem is an event series inspired by the liberating spaces of classic warehouse parties and inclusive rave culture.
For the first installment, we welcome Yoruba Records’ Kevin Reynolds. Kevin is a revered producer / live performer who grew in the local underground of Detroit’s mid '90's Techno scene. His music has been championed by Gilles Peterson, DJ Karizma, Jazzanova and has recent releases on Osunlade’s Yoruba Records. He splits his time producing lively house records, running sound for Octave One’s live performances, and training his adorable new Doberman puppy.
Joining are local late night heroes, OFF99; the West Coast House music project of Seattle based selectors - Alex Carrabba & Keenan Stevenson. Both draw their musical inspiration from soul, disco, jazz and hip-hop, all of which shape the house sound they faithfully curate. In addition to hosting and sharing bills with legends such as Ash Lauryn, Fred P, Marcellus Pittman, Terry Hunter, and Ron Trent.
Detroit expat Josh Dahlberg’s analog-centered approach blends house, techno, electro, and experimental; most notably as The Valley and the Mountain (abbr. TVTM). His TVTM releases appear on Belgium’s WéMè Records and Dutch label Shipwrec alongside artists like Drexciya’s Gerald Donald, DJ Stingray, DMX Krew, JD Twitch, and Ceephax Acid Crew.
Providing visuals for the event is Colorbard. Their psychedelic treatments embrace experimentation and will add a classic warehouse element to a night, complimenting the programming.
