VOL 10: DANCE MANIACS x AREL

Newly formed by Oak City Slums, Avi Loud, and Liano; supergroup Dance Maniacs brings a fresh amalgamation of contemporary dance music to the Los Angeles underground. Fresh off of their solo features on Juke Bounce Werk’s compilation series’ final installment, “JBDUBZ Vol. X”, the trio began debuting sets at Melody Lounge’s “Body Heat” and The Love Song Bar’s “Downtown Disko”.

By the summer of ‘23, they had all individually been featured on Daddy Kev’s “Scenario” weekly night, started a dj residency “Rhythm Rug'' at Checker Hall, and were featured on Juke Bounce Werk’s monthly Dublab show - which was nominated RA Mix Of The Day. Combined with a string of individual music releases from the trio, Dance Maniacs has made a splash in the circuit, putting a name and face to the emerging west-coast club sound.

--Oak City Slums - A North-Carolina transplant and LA resident, Oak City Slums is a versatile beat smith and club music fanatic, known for fluidly blending genres like Club, Jack, House and Breaks. Embraced by Los Angeles for his tenacious ability on the decks, his DJ sets get any room moving; while his own banging, raw, and percussive tracks leave a distinct and lasting impact on listeners.

Avi Loud - A Seattle-raised multi-disciplinary artist (photographer, musician), Avi has been a driving force in underground music, both in his hometown and now in Los Angeles. From hosting several dance-music nights to self-releasing EPs and albums, Avi constantly expands the boundaries of underground music with a sonic throughline that keeps the relationship between sound and movement at the forefront.

Liano - Over the last 3 years, Liano has become a consistent and rising presence in Los Angeles music communities. With his original productions receiving national and international circulation, his fast-paced energy and hyper-real sound create an infusion of rhythms that offer a unique perspective. A true wild-card, Liano shows his versatility between his live-music bands, production and dj residencies at Body Heat and Rhythm Rug in LA.

Arel

Arel Watson is a Seattle-based DJ, Kremwerk Resident, and founder of Housepartysea -- a genre-blending DJ night, online mix series, and Black-owned community hub that began in 2017 and focuses on creating spaces centered on Black electronic music. Providing a platform for cutting-edge DJs and pushing a progressive club sound that adventurously mixes house, techno, Jersey club, footwork, disco -- and continues to play an integral role in keeping the spirit of Seattle's club community alive.
